Mixed media print making. 2011.
I was working with the theme of water from the beginning of December 2010 and living in Goodna, Ipswich. Then the unbelievable happened- the 2010-11 floods hit SE Qld.
My work quickly embraced the themes of sediments and residues, the fingerprints left by the receding water.
The result was a collection of different print making techniques utilised on a filter-style paper. The filter component was significant for its sediment catching properties. The work was folded to resemble different styles of filter. The printing ink was purely water-based to further strengthen the language of materials.
